A Keep On Pushing Moment: Remember how far you’ve come

“Remember how far you’ve come, not just how far you have to go. You are not where you want to be but neither are you where you used to be.“ ~ Rick Warren

There is often a large chasm between where you are, or where you have been and where you ideally want to be in life.

And not only is getting there a long journey but as you know,it is paved with many difficulties and sometimes you can become so fixated on how much further you have to go that you become oblivious ….completely oblivious to how far you’ve come.

I’ve noticed that. I’ve noticed that we’ve become so adept at cataloging all the things we have not yet done. We beat ourselves up over our failures, which in turn only serve to demotivate and demoralize us.

But imagine if we were to become just as adept at celebrating our success, no matter how small and unremarkable they were.

Rather than focusing on how much further you have to go, I encourage you to instead look back at how much ground we have covered……the enormous obstacles you’ve overcome and how much better where you are now, is, compared to where you were?

Wouldn’t that make you feel more motivated and invigorated?

I bet it would!

So yes, while you may not be where you want to be, you definitely are not where you used to be and that’s an awesome thing!

That is something to be proud of!

This has been a keep on pushing moment.
